Lobbying for New Law to Define Tennessee Whiskey

We represented a major distiller of Tennessee whiskey to promote and successfully pass legislation that defines “Tennessee Whiskey” to the benefit of our client. “Tennessee Whiskey” has historically been associated with whiskey that is charcoal mellowed before maturing, and the distillery wanted to protect a process and name that is closely associated with the company. As part of the law, visitors to the distillery will be able to make purchases on Sundays of Tennessee Whiskey manufactured at the distillery.
