In June 2019, Bass, Berry & Sims member Richard Arnholt traveled to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to provide training on government contracts ethics and compliance issues to employees of a long-standing Bass, Berry & Sims client. The presentation, which was given as part of the client’s periodic employee training program, covered topics such as the importance of an ethical culture, risks of non-compliance, the Procurement Integrity Act, revolving door restrictions, the Anti-Kickback Act, gift and gratuities rules, and time and expense reporting.
The attorneys in our government contracts practice assist clients in meeting the demanding and ever-changing regulatory environment of contracting with federal, state and local governments. As part of our representation, our attorneys regularly provide this type of training, which is a key component of any government contractor’s compliance program operating in the U.S. and abroad.
