Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Danielle Sloane provided comments for an article exploring the potential changes to the physician self-referral law, or Stark Law. Lawmakers have solicited input from healthcare industry leaders on how to best integrate Stark Law requirements into the changing healthcare landscape. As Danielle explains in the article, “‘[t]he Stark statute, regulations and related guidance are difficult to navigate now and I am doubtful that layering on additional changes to the current structure of the law will make it less challenging to navigate absent a complete overhaul, but there are certainly things they can do to update it in light of the current healthcare environment.'”
