Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Susie Bilbro will co-present a webinar titled, “Navigating a Post Dobbs Employment Landscape” hosted by MT|SHRM on September 30 at 8:00 a.m. The panelist discussion will provide members with a brief overview of the Dobbs (Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern, PA V. Casey) decision; what did the Court consider and what the Court decided. The panelists will review State reactions to the decision, including a closer look into Tennessee’s current state.
This sets the stage to then discuss what employer plans currently cover regarding abortion. Do employers want to (and can you) make a change- considerations for fully and self-insured health plans. They will touch on travel benefits and considerations for abortion which will include a discussion on adding them to an existing group plan or a standalone plan outside of ERISA. The panelists will wrap up the conversation with insights on why it’s important to have a decision tree structure in place to help your organization objectively identify whether internal communication is expected, appropriate and advised.
