We represented Hibbett Sports, Inc. (Nasdaq: HIBB) in its acquisition of City Gear – a specialty athletic apparel, accessory and footwear retailer – for $113 million. Acting as a subsidiary of Hibbett Sporting Goods, Inc., City Gear will aid Hibbett Sports in its efforts to expand its customer base and service reach.

Hibbett Sports is a specialty athletic fashion retailer with more than 1,000 stores nationwide. Hibbett offers specialty and exclusive athletic-inspired fashion ranging from apparel and footwear.

This transaction was named a finalist in the “Consumer Discretionary Deal of the Year ($50MM-$100MM)” and “Corporate/Strategic Deal of the Year ($75MM-$100MM)” categories for the 18th Annual M&A Advisor Awards in 2019. Bass, Berry & Sims had six separate deals recognized as finalists among nine categories for the 2019 M&A Advisor Awards.
