The American Health Law Association (AHLA) recently released its annual Top Honors List – recognizing and celebrating organizations that consistently and enthusiastically sustain their affiliation with AHLA and encourage colleagues, employees, and members to affiliate with AHLA. On the 2024 Top Honors List, Bass, Berry & Sims was recognized as the third largest healthcare law firm. This year’s ranking was based on AHLA organization members as of March 31, 2024. Bill Mathias – Fraud and Compliance Forum Program Planning Committee

In addition, Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Bill Mathias was named a member of the AHLA’s Fraud and Compliance Forum Program Planning Committee. This conference features sessions led by fraud and compliance specialists who work with a wide variety of healthcare providers, as well as presenters from federal healthcare fraud regulatory and enforcement agencies. The planning committee puts together a conference that addresses emerging regulatory trends, recent case law and legislative developments, and how they will affect legal and compliance practices in healthcare. Bill has more than 25 years of experience helping national healthcare organizations address their thorniest healthcare regulatory issues. Bill is a recognized authority on the federal Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), the Stark Physician Self-Referral Law, the Eliminating Kickbacks in Recovery Act (EKRA) and the federal Civil Monetary Penalty regulations.
