Alé Dalton – Healthcare Transactions & Regulatory Compliance
Alé Dalton joins Bass, Berry & Sims as a member in Nashville. She advises healthcare providers, health systems, physician organizations, healthcare services companies, investors, and operators on healthcare transactions and regulatory matters, including acquisitions, divestitures, affiliations, joint ventures, ambulatory surgery center transactions, clinical research arrangements, and healthcare operational compliance issues. Bringing a combination of transactional and healthcare industry experience, Dalton helps clients navigate complex strategic initiatives and business growth opportunities across the healthcare sector.
Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Dalton was a partner at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP. She earned her law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law (2016) and received a B.A. from Lipscomb University (2012).
Maggie Deutsch – Private Equity Finance & Debt Financing Transactions
Maggie Deutsch joined Bass, Berry & Sims as a member in the firm’s newly launched Chicago office. She represents private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, private credit lenders, and financial institutions in complex financing transactions, advising on debt structures that support acquisitions, growth initiatives, recapitalizations, refinancings, and other strategic business objectives.
Before joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Deutsch was a partner at Reed Smith LLP alongside Jason Gordon and Robert Newman who officially launched the Bass, Berry & Sims Chicago office earlier this year. She earned a law degree from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law (2018) and received her B.A. from The College of William & Mary (2015), where she competed as a Division I gymnast and earned Scholastic All-American honors.
Sara Alpert Lawson – Healthcare Litigation, False Claims Act & Government Investigations
Sara Alpert Lawson joins Bass, Berry & Sims as a member in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office, where she represents healthcare organizations, managed care companies, healthcare providers and executives in False Claims Act litigation, government investigations, and healthcare compliance disputes. With nearly two decades of litigation experience, Lawson counsels clients on a range of healthcare litigation and enforcement matters, including Medicare Advantage risk adjustment, reimbursement and billing issues, Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute compliance, and parallel civil and criminal investigations. Lawson also maintains an active complex commercial litigation practice representing entities and sophisticated investors.
Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Lawson was a partner at Zuckerman Spaeder LLP in the Baltimore and Tampa offices. She earned a law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law (2007) and an undergraduate degree from The Johns Hopkins University (2003).
