With the uncertainty created by the COVID-19 coronavirus, we are reaching out to share an update on Bass, Berry & Sims’ response to this serious issue. First, we realize this is an unsettling time for everyone. Our hearts go out to those who are suffering from the virus and to those who care for them.
Our number one priority at Bass, Berry & Sims is the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, our clients, families, and the community.
To that end, here are the steps we are taking:
- Continuation of service through remote work. Our people are equipped with the appropriate, secure technology to work from home. The ability to securely access the firm’s client service tools from anywhere has always been part of what we do. Access to our paperless, electronic file system and all research and filing tools will be uninterrupted during this time due to the preparation and planning of our attorneys and business professionals.
- Social Distancing. In addition to remote work, we are restricting business-related travel per CDC guidelines. Prior to implementing a remote workforce, we limited in-person meetings and restricted social gatherings. These directives remain in place.
- Following WHO and CDC Guidance. We are actively monitoring guidance from public health officials, including the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control, and state and local public agencies. We are encouraging everyone to take precautions and prioritize their personal safety and wellness, including advising employees of the CDC’s recommendations to monitor for the key symptoms of COVID-19, which are fever, coughing, and shortness of breath.
We are actively engaged with clients to help them navigate the challenges this situation presents. In an effort to help our clients sort through all of the news and updates related to this pandemic, we have created a COVID-19 Response page. On this page you will find links to the guidance we feel is most relevant to our clients, as well as our own timely alerts related to this topic. We stand ready to manage through this difficult period together with each of you. Please reach out to the members of your team who normally support you with questions or requests for assistance or contact us via our COVID-19 email.
