In an article published by BNA’s Health Law Resource Center, Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Danielle Sloane commented on the 60-day extension issued by CMS for labs to report private payer payment rates. The initial deadline, March 31, was postponed until May 30 to allow additional time for labs to gather required data. According to Danielle, the “delay appears to be acknowledgment from the CMS that this is a new reporting process that is bound to have some complications.”
