“Providers will continue to be pressed to operate their institutions at lower costs and more efficiently utilizing the best available health-care information technology,” said Leigh Walton, an attorney and co-head of the healthcare group at Bass Berry & Sims law firm here. “Some of the smaller systems will not have access to the capital to, for example, implement strong health-care IT and… may suffer from basically the inability to run as efficiently as a large system.”
