His practice includes:

His work includes reviewing marketing campaigns; assessing compliance risks; supporting promotional programs; and counseling on legal issues affecting digital advertising, text-based marketing, loyalty programs, social media promotions, and consumer-facing claims.
- Sponsorship Matters – Assisting brands, rights holders, and commercial partners with sponsorship, licensing, activation, and promotional arrangements connected to sporting events, entertainment properties, and other high-profile marketing opportunities.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Emerging Technologies – Counseling clients on legal and business issues associated with AI and rapidly developing technologies. He advises on governance frameworks; risk management considerations; contractual protections; data usage issues; and regulatory developments affecting AI-enabled products, services, and business processes.
- Talent, Influencer Marketing, & Social Media – Representing companies in matters involving content creators, influencers, talent, agencies, and brand collaborators. He drafts and negotiates commercial agreements and advises on endorsement campaigns, creator partnerships, content usage rights, and social media marketing strategies.
In addition, Johannes counsels clients on privacy, cybersecurity, and technology transactions, including commercial agreements involving software, cloud services, data assets, and digital platforms.
Johannes holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) designation and advises organizations on privacy compliance and data governance initiatives. He earned a law degree from Loyola University, Chicago School of Law; a Master of Legal Studies and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arizona.
