Maggie Deutsch represents private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, private credit lenders, financial institutions, and corporate borrowers in sophisticated financing transactions. She advises clients on debt structures supporting acquisitions, growth initiatives, recapitalizations, refinancings, and other strategic business objectives, with experience spanning throughout the middle-market.
Maggie regularly works with participants across the private capital ecosystem, advising clients on the structuring, negotiation, and execution of financing transactions in both domestic and cross-border settings. Her practice encompasses a broad range of debt financing structures and capital solutions, including acquisition financings, leveraged recapitalizations, and refinancings. She brings a practical, commercial approach to complex transactions and works closely with clients to navigate issues efficiently from initial structuring and negotiation through closing.
Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Maggie was a private equity finance partner at Reed Smith, where she advised private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, private credit lenders, financial institutions, and corporate borrowers on a broad range of financing transactions. Maggie earned her law degree from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where she served as Executive Lead Articles Editor of The John Marshall Law Review. She received her B.A. from the College of William & Mary, where she competed as a Division I gymnast and earned Scholastic All-American honors.
