Quint Doan advises clients operating at the intersection of environmental regulation, energy development, and highly regulated industries. Drawing on a dual background in law and environmental science, he helps companies evaluate risk, structure transactions, and respond to evolving regulatory requirements. Additionally, Quint has experience counseling life sciences and manufacturing clients on environmental regulatory considerations impacting product development and commercialization.
His practice includes:
- Environmental Regulatory Compliance – Advising clients on regulatory compliance, transactional matters, and disputes, including responding to federal and state agency inquiries and enforcement actions; guiding renewable energy and infrastructure companies through permitting, operational requirements, and multi‑jurisdictional project development.
- M&A Environmental Guidance – Supporting mergers, acquisitions, and project investments by conducting environmental diligence, evaluating permitting frameworks, and addressing risk allocation in transaction documents; experience includes renewable and emerging energy assets such as wind, solar, battery storage, and renewable natural gas.
- Environmental Litigation – Representing clients in disputes and regulatory matters arising from environmental incidents and compliance issues, including preparing litigation and mediation materials and advising under complex statutory regimes governing air, water, and hazardous substances.
Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Quint was an associate at Stinson LLP in its Dallas office. He gained additional experience as a law clerk for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Washington State Attorney General: Department of Ecology working on environmental issues. Quint earned his law degree from Yale Law School and a Master of Environmental Science from the Yale School of the Environment and a Bachelor of Science in natural resources: conservation biology from the University of Arizona.
