Kerry has spent more than 20 years helping companies achieve their growth objectives. She is the chief strategy officer (CSO) for Bass, Berry & Sims, where she is a trusted advisor to the managing partner and the Executive Committee on the firm’s strategic position and tactical execution of both long-term and short-term objectives. As the CSO, she oversees the Marketing and Business Development, Client Value, and Attorney Talent Management departments, creating and aligning initiatives focused on recruiting, nurturing, and growing the firm’s attorney talent and client relationships. Kerry has held multiple positions at Bass, Berry & Sims, most recently serving as the Chief Marketing & Business Development officer.
Kerry is responsible for creating high-impact organizational initiatives aimed at strengthening the firm for long-term success. She was responsible for developing and implementing the Client Experience Initiative, a firm-wide strategy that prioritizes and institutionalizes a wide range of client-focused programs to ensure brand differentiation through exceptional service. Following the pandemic, she led the firm through a cultural assessment, resulting in a Mutual Expectations Charter, which acts as a touchstone of the firm’s values. Kerry has led multiple strategic planning sessions at the institutional and practice group levels, including overseeing the tactical execution of the resulting plans. Her team has been awarded multiple honors for excellence in business development and marketing from industry organizations, including the Legal Marketing Association and Legal Sales and Service Organization (LSSO).
Before joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Kerry was the Director of Marketing and Recruiting at Harwell Howard Hyne Gabbert & Manner, P.C. (H3GM), where, among other accomplishments, she led a comprehensive identity rebranding effort and wrote a business development training curriculum to teach attorneys new business generation skills.
Kerry started her career in sales and marketing, where she was a top-producing account executive for various media outlets and marketing firms. She is an active community member, serving on various professional and nonprofit boards. She was twice named a Nashville Emerging Leader Finalist in public relations and marketing. Kerry holds a B.S. in communications from the University of Tennessee.
